Youth Services Librarian

Library Associate III

 

Location:  Windham Branch

Pay scale:  Library Associate III                                 

Minimum rate of pay:  $12.54 per hour

Wages and terms of employment are covered by the collective bargaining agreement between the Portage County District Library (PCDL) and SEIU, District 1199. 

Hours:  Average of 25 hours per week, includes evenings and weekends.  Hourly, Non-exempt, Bargaining Unit. 

Qualifications:  Undergraduate four (4) year degree and applicable experience. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Knowledge of children’s and young adult literature. Skill in preparing and implementing youth programs.  Ability to maintain young adult and children’s area of the library. Knowledge of library policies and procedures; operation of automated library equipment; and computer operation and functions including data processing. Ability to develop good rapport with library patrons, supervisors and co-workers. See Position Description for additional requirements.

JOB POSTING

Library Branch Managers-

Aurora

Garrettsville/Windham

PCDL has two openings for Branch Manager.  Responsibilities include supervising, training, and scheduling staff.  The Branch Manager will coordinate and evaluate branch programs and services. This position also represents the library at community events and acts as a liaison between local groups and the library.  The Branch Manager is part of the administrative team and participates in immediate and long-term planning of the library’s services within its service community.

Qualifications:  Masters of Library Science degree or within six months of obtaining the degree and related work experience.  Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.

Benefits:  This is a full-time non-exempt position. Starting salary is $42,538 per year, plus benefits, including OPERS pickup, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time.
