Friends of PCDL

What is the Friends of the Library?

The Friends are people, like you, who believe in and support the PCDL. The Friends are very conscious of the important role that library plays in the community. The Friends are dedicated to providing or funding a variety of activities including book sales, contests, adult and youth programs and events featuring local and regional experts.

What do Friends do for the library?

  • Focus public attention on library services, facilities and needs
  • Promote the use and enjoyment of the library to children, young adults and adults
  • Raise funds through membership and our popular monthly book sales.

Donating to the library

Each branch Friends group has multiple book and material sales each year. Donations of materials that are in good condition can be made during normal library hours of operation. For large donations, please contact your library branch for more information. The library branches currently accept:

  • Hard cover fiction and non-fiction
  • Children's books
  • Audiobooks
  • Paperbacks
  • DVDs

For questions about donating an item, please contact your specific branch to see if it is acceptable for donation.
