Summer Storytime
Summer storytime with a musical theme on Mondays for 2 to 5 year-olds which will feature stories, songs, fingerplays, and crafts. Children will be introduced to a variety of music- come prepared to dance and sing.


Summer Reading Club
Summer reading club for children who've completed kindergarten through 5th grade on Tuesday beginning at 1:30 pm.

The Wonderful World of Bubbles with The Bubble Lady on June 19
A Beach Party featuring the music of Michelle Gaw on June 25

Storyteller Lindsay Bonilla and Violinist Amy Glick of the Akron Symphony Orchestra on July 10

Kids will keep a reading log, having been asked to read at least 20 minutes a day and five days a week. There'll be weekly prize drawings as well as a schedule of talented performers.


Weekly prize drawings for students in 6-12 grades who read books. Drawings will be held several times over the summer.



Adult patrons are invited to enter for a chance to win $20 gift cards for each library checkout. Drawings will take place weekly on Saturdays, using the prior week's entries.

Passive Reading Program

Home delivery library users will have the opportunity to answer trivia questions while identifying popular musical performers and musicians throughout history. The user with the most correct answers will win a gift card. Our home delivery users are also invited to enter the department's "Design Your Own Guitar" contest.


"Design Your Own Guitar" Contest

Library Express users will have the opportunity to design their own guitar using a paper cut-out. There'll be a first, second, and third place winner. Prizes include tote bags, gift cards, and other items.

Every Wednesday beginning at 1:00 pm. With music being summer reading's focus this year, there'll be a different theme each week. Plan on Jungle Terry & Animals on July 18.


Teen Programs
Contest for kids 18 and under. Find a rock to decorate. Entry forms located at the Circulation Desk. Participants may turn in their decorated rocks between July 25 and July 30 during library hours.
