Programs- All-Day Arranged by Branch

Occasionally PCDL branch libraries will host library programs which have elements that are available for library patrons to pick up anytime during normal library service hours. Whether it is a reading contest for a prize with a book reading log or a "make and take" craft for all age groups, these programs are featured here:



1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Ongoing Branch Program
Parents and caregivers may take the challenge to read 1,000 books to their preschool children. Starter kit includes a free tote bag. Children receive a free book at the 500-book milestone and a t-shirt when they reach the 1,000 books goal. Call 330-562-6502 for registration.


Adult Winter 10-Book Reading Challenge
December 21 through March 19, 2022
Adult patrons are invited to participate in the 2021-2022 Winter 10-Book Reading Challenge.  Participants may pick up a reading log from the reference desk beginning Tuesday, December 21 and record any 10 items read through Saturday, March 19, 2022 and will record their completed titles with the log sheet provided. If choosing to use an alternative method (such as the popular Goodreads), simply let the reference staff know when the challenge has been completed to receive an entry to win one of two $25.00 gift certificates to Heinen’s.  All patron challenges must be completed by the close of the business day on March 19 to receive an entry ticket.



"Take & Make" Hanukkah Ornaments

Holiday "Take & Make" Crafts
Available December 1 to December 20
Check out the "take and make" crafts that will be available in the lobby. Each week will feature a new holiday craft to make at home. Available while supplies last. Call 330-527-4378 for more information.



During whole month of November
Children K-5 are invited to celebrate "Dinovember" all month. Participate in a dinosaur search and find, guess how many dinosaurs are in the jar, and take home a dinosaur craft. This is a passive program that is available during library service hours. No registration needed. Call 330-626-4458 for more information.

Bookish Crafts

All ages are invited to upcycle old books into new and interesting items. Come and check out our display and see what you can make. Some needed supplies and instructions will be available. No registration needed. Call 330-626-4458 for more information.

Children's Book Bundles
Now until December 31
Book Bundles consist of 4 to 5 picture books and/or nonfiction books based on a central theme. Also included is a user-friendly craft and/or activity. There are Book Bundles for all ages. Call 330-626-4458 for more information.

Fairy Jar "Take & Make"
