Aurora Teen Writers' Circle

A monthly program designed for teens in grades 7-12 who have a passion for writing. Enjoy time writing in any form. Bring your ideas, a pen, and a notebook. Be ready to explore your creativity and imagination. Program is led by Christina Green, a local resident and full-time mom who enjoys writing movie scripts as well as poetry in her spare time. Garrettsville Make a "Madhatter" Hat

Teens are invited to the Garrettsville Library to make a tiny "Madhatter" hat for Halloween. Then join us on Saturday, October 22 at 1:30 pm to enjoy a special presentation of the movie that inspired the hat, which was recently-released on DVD- and wear your hat! Aurora Teen Read Week: Prize Drawing & Book Cover Contest

Help the Aurora Memorial Library celebrate Teen Read Week! Teens who check out books during the month of October can enter a drawing to win a Target gift card. In addition to the prize drawing, teens are invited to re-design a young adult book cover, and it'll be entered into a contest. Deadline for submission of book covers is Saturday, October 22. All entries will be put on display in the YA area, and teens can vote for their favorite from October 24 until November 4. Call 330-562-6502 for more information.

Aurora Young Adult "First Lines" Prize Drawing

Youths in grades 5 through 12 can test their knowledge of young adult books in the "First Lines" prize drawing being offered during the month of September. To enter, students are asked to provide the titles of several books based on the first lines of those books on a prize drawing entry sheet. Two prizes of Cinemark movie tickets will be awarded on September 30.
